I have recently started looking for AJAX tutorials so that I might get in on this phenomenon. I had a working knowledge of Javascript already, but had not yet read one page of an AJAX handbook or tutorial. So, for the complete novice, I have found these tutorials helpful:
- IBM’s Mastering AJAX Series: A great series of articles (5 parts), extremely in-depth, a must first-read.
- Ajax Tutorial: An excellent blog with some of its own tutorials, and tons of links to others.
- The Instant AJAX Tutorial: This tutorial I found especially useful, because it dives right in to coding.
- AJAX: What is it good for?: A good background to AJAX, as well as example scripts. A good start.
- Guide to using AJAX and Xmlhttprequest: Exactly what the title says, its a guide to integrating AJAX with forms, excellent tutorial.
- Rasmus’ 30 Second AJAX Tutorial: Another great quick-guide, very useful.
- Make An AJAX Website in > 10 Minutes: Yet another AJAX quick-guide.
- Mozilla’s Getting Started Guide: An excellent capper to this list, an extensive guide with code snippets, explanations and examples.
