5 Best [Online] Productivity Resources

There are many tools and websites online that serve little purpose other than to waste our time. There are, also, sites and tools that will save you time, money, and just generally help you GTD.

These are their stories:

Lifehack.org: A great site dedicated to…well…lifehacks. Everyday they have numerous entries on everything from personal hygiene to productivity. I have found their articles extremely well written and well thought out. A must read/subscribe.

43Things: 43Things may seem a bit out of place in this list, but it’s not. 43Things is a site that fosters sharing goals, personal or otherwise, that you wish to attain. You can read about others who have wished to achieve the same as you, and often times they will have a helpful tip or word of encouragement. Not a casual read, however, as browsing through the site will likely chew up a few hours of your day. A must-check-at-least-weekly.

43Folders: 43Folders, brought to you by the same people that bring you 43Things. 43Folders is more of a direct lifehack website. It contains a wiki with hundreds of useful user-submitted tips and tricks for everything from coffee making to office politics. Another must read/subscribe.

Backpackit: An *exceedingly* useful website and toolkit. Keep everything from notes to to-do lists and calendars all in one central location. Sign up for an account, and set your page as your browser’s homepage. This way, every time you load up Firefox, you’ll be reminded of the crap you should be doing.

GTDTiddlyWiki: GTDTiddlyWiki is a useful little tool. It’s basically a small wiki script stored in an HTML file that can be kept on your laptop or USB key so that you do not need internet access to access your stuff. Very useful and flexible little tool, but moreso if you are familiar with using wiki’s.
